songs i like [christian]
we are in an excellent moment for Christian music! my brothers and sisters in Christ all around are creating innovative, high-quality music that I actually enjoy to listen to any time. here are some of my favorite songs that are not in everyone's worship playlist.
"Abba" by John Mark Pantana / soft. smooth. it's like taking a bubble bath for your ears.
Album -Soul Hymns by Isla Vista Worship // chill bops with fantastic melodies and vocals, also just so solid for an anytime-worship-moment...
- "814" - a bop that makes you want to surrender your life to Jesus while dancin' a little bit - what's better ?
- "Captured" - beautiful melody and vocals. easy upbeat sounds that express the joyous feels of a heart captured by the King
- "So in Love - B-Side" slowed-down version of the original, infused with heart and soul
- "Kindness" - a kind song that you just kinda want to snuggle up with in the sunshine
- "Portion" - slowed down, piano + violin, so peaceful
- "Opened Up the Heavens" - feels like the end credits song of a good time with Jesus
"Savior and King" by Nick Smith /// upbeat. jazzy. fun but chill like hanging with your best friends on a Sunday afternoon
"Glory" by Ecclesia // a creative, sunny bop, full of surprises
if you like this vibe, you should also listen to their songs: Excellence, Eyes Only For You, We Could Be the Ones, Hands & Feet, and honestly just go explore all their songs
"Loving Kind" by Antoine Bradford /// another smooth blues-feelin song for when you just wanna think about Jesus again
"Where the Wind Blows" by Jon Webster /// another upbeat one
"New Life" by LOVKN for the upbeat acoustic sounds and also check out his songs Breath of Life and What's Living All About, plus whatever else you find that you like
Album - Sunday School by Local Sound /// this is for anyone who wants the retro/reimagined sounds of some classic worship songs... this is one of my favorite albums of the moment. Shout to the Lord and Let My Words Be Few are must-listens.
finally, i have to recommend everything by John Mark Pantana!
my favorite artist for a while now. i linked "Taste and See" from his album Mighty Grace, which is my favorite - raw, acoustic creativity and excellency with simple and sweet lyrics. his new album Love Secrets is also nice, different vibe for those who like electronic sounds a bit more. check out both!
of course, these are just a few sounds i have discovered, and there are actually a surprising number of other artists creating beautiful music for Jesus! feel free to share your faves with me too as always. we may never know unless a brother or sister unlocks it for us! :-)
ur sista,
